Our Key Differentiators

Dermatoglyphics Multiple Intelligence Test (DMIT)

DMIT is a well-recognized scientific tool to study human fingerprints. It is a set of assessments developed by scientists and medical experts based on genetics, embryology, dermatoglyphics, neuroscience and pediatric psychology through methods of observation, record, comparison and summarization in combination with clinical experience.

Through the connection of fingerprints and brain, the test analyses the inborn strengths and potential of your child. DMIT is an exceptional tool for both parents and teachers to understand a child’s brain activity, innate characteristics and intelligence. Every child is special in his/her own way and DMIT enables us to understand a child’s unique learning style, multiple quotients, learning methods and personality traits.

Sri Sri Academy is the only school in Siliguri that conducts these tests for all their students. Needless to mention, this facility has been extended to children enrolled at Neev – The Foundation School too, the Pre-Primary Wing of Sri Sri Academy, Siliguri. The aim of this test is to empower parents as well as facilitators to fully understand and respect individual differences of each child and plan and provide education and training accordingly.

Get a step closer in understanding your child better by booking an appointment today! The process is extremely smooth and does not take much time. Visit the school to get your child’s fingerprint scan taken, which takes all of 15 minutes. The report is generated 42 hours later following which a one-on-one counseling session is organized with our in-house DMIT Counselor. This would give you a complete understanding of the innate potential, strengths, areas of intelligence, personality traits and brain dominance of your child.

So, why wait? Let us come together, nurture every child and give him/her an effective start from the very beginning!

Neevitan’s Activity Box

From the pioneers of early childhood education, comes for the first time ever in North Bengal, a box like no other! Specially for your child, every month! Designed and prepared by our team of child experts, each box contains theme based and STEAM based activities which are not only stimulating and entertaining but also helps satiate your child’s curiosity and need for knowledge. The Neevitan’s Activity Box nurtures your child’s imagination and creativity, makes learning fun and at the same time enhances their developmental skills. Needless to mention, it has proven particularly handy during these days of virtual learning and work from home, as it helps solve myriad issues being faced by parents who struggle to come up with different ways to keep their child engaged for a long time.

Sensory Path

For the first time ever a Preschool in Siliguri brings for tiny tots a Sensory Path! Early childhood education is all a out learning through the five senses. When they walk bare feet on the sensory path, children will get familiar with different textures like coarse, smooth, grainy, rough, soft, bumpy and the like. Sensory paths in a preschool aid in building connections with the brain, developing gross motor skills and also enable children to complete complex tasks.

Super Chefs in the Making

Children are born curious and as they grow up, are eager to copy adults and be a part of the action all the time, making this an ideal age to instill culinary skills in them. In Neev-The Foundation School we encourage children to take the role of ‘Super Chefs’ as we introduce concepts like kitchen safety, basic measurement and teamwork. Flameless cooking is an intrinsic part of our curriculum where we take the opportunity of reinforcing basic math concepts and other academic skills of counting, colors, shapes and most importantly following instructions. Actions such as mixing, pouring, wrapping, shaking, spreading, peeling, rolling and mashing are not mere culinary skills that children learn but are fantastic ways to advance their fine motor skills in a fun and collaborative manner. To top it all, they learn about eating healthy food and can help whip up a snack for parents back home too!

Little Einsteins at Work

Children are all born scientists as they are all born curious. The world is an endless source of wonder to the children and they have never-ending questions. Where does the sun disappear at night? Why is the sky blue? Why aren’t there any more dinosaurs? Mommy/Daddy, why is the moon following us?

With these kinds of questions, a child lets us know he/she is thinking about how the world works. We, at Neev-The Foundation School, do not believe in spoon feeding them with outright answers, rather we respond in ways that encourage their scientific thinking skills. We enjoy discussing their queries and motivate them to share their perspective and observations. Children learn science through trial and error. They need time to try things out and think on their own.

When you visit Neev-The Foundation School, you will find our Little Einstein’s at Work, finding answers to their questions, exploring and making scientific discoveries.

S.T.E.A.M Activities

S.T.E.A.M activities are hands on approach to learning that uses Science, Technology, Engineering, the Arts and Mathematics for guiding student inquiry, dialogue and critical thinking. The S.T.E.A.M classrooms at Neev – The Foundation School are highly collaborative, with students learning to share responsibility while working on group projects. Our specially curated S.T.E.A.M activities are not just about learning facts and figures, instead they present challenges and help kids come up with their own solutions, thereby developing skills relevant to the 21st century like critical thinking, innovation and cultural sensitivity.

DEAR Time

Drop Everything and Read (D.E.A.R.) is the time when everyone in school including the Principal, teachers and students pick up a book and begin to read for a designated amount of time. Every room in our school has a shelf or two of age appropriate books for easy access, for one never knows when the D.E.A.R time bell rings! At Neev – The Foundation School, we strive to instill good reading habits in kids at an early age which will prove beneficial for life.

Field Trips

Multi-sensorial learning is an important part of schooling at Neev – The Foundation School; children learn best when they can see, hear, and encounter things first-hand. Field trips are a particularly strong way to consolidate learning, as children’s experiences can be directly related to the real world. Our students are taken to various places like a science center, a hypermarket, a farm, an open-air zoo, a bank, a post office, a railway station, a park, a bakery, a fire station, places of religious worship and more such places that facilitate hands-on learning exposures. Children not only learn about their surroundings and the community at large but also about the importance of each and every place they visit. For example, instead of just reading about milking cows, students who visit a dairy farm can observe cows being milked, and possibly even get to try it themselves!

Stage Performances

Children have an inherent need to demonstrate what they are feeling and thinking; some do so very vocally, but some are quiet and shy. It is a recognized fact that ‘glossophobia’ or the fear of public speaking is one of the most common phobias worldwide. It is to stem this fear at an early age itself, that we at Neev – The Foundation School, encourage every child to go up on stage and perform. Regular stage performances not only ensure such fears do not develop but also aid young kids to think out of the box and understand how to appraise a situation. As they participate in stage shows, their public speaking abilities improve which in turn makes them more confident and enables them to express an opinion to a group of people.

Show and Tell

‘Show and Tell’ is an integral part of our school’s curriculum. It was as early as 1954 that this activity was written about in the journal ‘Childhood Education’ and has been adopted by early elementary schools in the UK, USA, Australasia and a few premium preschools in India too. At Neev – The Foundation School, we motivate our students to bring pictures, toys and other child-oriented items from home and explain to the class why they chose that particular item, where they got it from and other relevant information. This activity gives each child an opportunity to be the center of attention in the class as he/she speaks a few lines. It emboldens their social, emotional and language skills as they learn to use descriptive language, practice listening skills and share their special items with others. This positive social interaction assists in boosting children’s self-esteem, fosters public speaking skills and makes them feel comfortable while talking in front of their peers. Stage fear is something our kids have no idea about!

Circle Time

Noted early childhood educator, Jenny Mosley started the concept of ‘Circle Time’ – a time dedicated for children to warm up and get prepped up for the day ahead. Participating in circle time introduces young children to the concept of time through a set routine and is beneficial for their personal growth. At Neev -The Foundation School, we have incorporated this model and have designed our circle time activities such that they help in developing positive relationships among kids, promoting oral communication and also increasing their attention span.
